HIKE IT APP

HikeIt is an idea for an app that I wireframed and prototyped in a UX design course. The purpose of the app is to help people find, save, rate and review trails in their area. While it is not an actual app that you can download, If you would like to check out the interactive prototype you can do that below.

the process

This project was my final project for a UX design course that I took fall 2019. Initially I struggled to find a topic as I wanted to design an app that would solve a problem that I could personally relate to. As someone who has recently become interested in hiking this idea really formed out of the difficulties that I have had searching online for places to explore that were both in my area and that fit my skill level. I ran with that idea and developed this solution!

The logo was the first aspect that I developed. I wanted the app to have modern flair to go along with the strong nature imagery that I had planned on incorporating.

I also incorporated the modern flair with my color palette, opting to choose a brighter more intense green. I made an executive decision that I wanted to stay away from the forest greens and brown to try and give the app a more contemporary nature vibe. A refreshed and spirited take on the traditional colors that define what nature is.
